The Arts
Whether you are a concert pianist or just want to dabble in watercolors, Hopkins has a way for you to express your artistic talents. The new Mattin Student Arts Center, opened in Fall 2001, is a focal point for the arts on campus, featuring rehearsal spaces for musicians, darkrooms for photographers, a dance studio, a black box theater, a state of the art digital media center that offers training an equipment for budding digital directors, and other gallery and studio spaces for artists. There are also dozens of performance groups, from singing to comedy improv to acting, that Hopkins students can get involved in.
Combine all these resources with Baltimore's burgeoning cultural scene and the opportunities available at the Peabody Institute, and you'll find that Hopkins is a great place for students interested in the arts.
