Ophthalmic Diagnostic Photography
About 12 seconds after the injection of sodium fluorescein dye into a vein in the arm, the dye is seen entering the retinal arteries. Before the retinal arteries are filled, the choroid which lies beneath the retina is filled with dye. The fluorescence from dye in the choroid can be seen in the background of this photograph.
