Description:The course will be a week-long exploration of what sustainability means for humanity and our life on Earth. What would a sustainable future look like? What should we use for energy? Can industry be sustainable? Is there enough oil to last? What do we do if there's not? Guest speakers will include experts in the fields of energy, the built environment, climate change, peak petroleum, ecology, and how the environment affects our health. The course will consist of lectures, small group projects, and a field trip to relevant sites in Washington DC.
