HA.399.100.31 Medical Spanish Practicum (3 credits)
Students will learn about Neuroscience and Spanish culture by becoming immersed in the vibrant life of Salamanca, a vibrant city rich in history and culture. Students will take 2 courses for a total of 6 credits on this program. The first course, the Neurobiology of Hearing, focuses on sound processing, including current research topics in Auditory Neuroscience, including synaptic physiology, neural circuitry, acoustics, physiology, and behavior. This course will count for an upper-level Neuroscience elective. Students also will take a “Spanish for Science and Pre-med Students” course for 3 credits focusing on Spanish language, culture, and science and medical terminology that might be useful in the context of medical practice or research. Students will live in a residencia, which includes a meal plan.
Neurobiology of Hearing
HA.080.362.3 (3 Credits N)
Focuses on sound processing, including current research topics in auditory neuroscience, synaptic physiology, neural circuitry, acoustics, physiology, and behavior. This course will count as an upper-level Neuroscience elective.
Medical Spanish Practicum
HA.399.100.31 (3 Credits H)
This course will cover Spanish scientific and professional terminology useful in the context of medical practice or research.
