This summer study trip in London, England offers students the opportunity to spend three intensive weeks discovering first-hand the artistic riches of one of the world's most innovative, international and exclusive centers of art. Students will explore the city's major art collections and monuments, as well as some of the city's more intimate galleries and auction houses, and meet with various experts in the field. The course serves an ideal overview of key works in the history of art with a special focus on the period of the Renaissance, modern and contemporary. The changing role of the museum will also be addressed.

COURSE INFORMATION
Spend three intensive weeks discovering first-hand the artistic riches of one of the world’s most innovative, international and exclusive centers of art. We will explore the city’s major art collections, monuments and some of the city’s more intimate galleries and auction houses.
PROGRAM COST
$4800 (includes tuition for three credits, in-country program excursions, and housing at IES in the Royal Borough of Kensington & Chelsea). Participants must arrange and pay for their own flight. An enrollment of at least 10 participants will be needed to run the program.
To be considered for the Art in London Summer Program, students must complete the application and return it with an unofficial transcript and a deposit of $300.00 (payable to Johns Hopkins University) to: Office of Study Abroad, Levering Hall 04B. Applications and deposits are due April 1, 2011.
