| Add | Drop | Withdrawal (W) | |
| TERM I | May 29 | May 29 | June 12 |
| TERM II | July 2 | July 6 | July 17 |
To add or drop a class, Summer University students must go to the Summer Programs Office, Suite 100, Whitehead Hall. Adding a class after the second class meeting requires the permission of the instructor. Students cannot add or drop by phone. The tuition refund varies by drop date.
After the drop deadline and until the withdraw deadline, students may withdraw only with the permission of the Summer Programs coordinator or director. The course will be entered on your transcript with a notation of withdrawal (W). A withdrawal is not permitted after the withdraw deadline under any circumstances. Students who do not attend class and who do not officially drop or withdraw receive an N for the course. All N grades automatically convert to an F three weeks into the Hopkins fall semester.
Note to all Summer University students: Pre-College academic advisers in the Summer Programs Office work with students to provide the necessary support and assistance to prevent withdrawal.
