Eligibility, Overview

TO BE ELIGIBLE FOR SUMMER UNIVERSITY (INCLUDING MINI-TERMS)…

  • You must be at least 16 years old by June 30, 2014
  • Have completed your sophomore, junior, or senior year of high school
  • Have achieved at least a 3.0 grade point average (on a 4.0 scale)

Admission to the program is competitive, and your application will not be considered until it is complete. Please refer to the dates on the Apply Now page for deadlines. The application requires completing the application form with a writing sample and submitting your official high school transcript, standardized test scores (PSAT, SAT, or ACT), and two letters of recommendation. Each application is reviewed by a committee, and students are screened for both academic achievement and maturity. Pre-college students may not enroll in any other academic program (including online courses) during the duration of the program.

  • You must be at least 15 years old by June 30, 2014
  • Have completed your freshman, sophomore, junior, or senior year of high school
  • Have achieved at least a 3.0 grade point average (on a 4.0 scale)

Each application is reviewed by a committee, and students are screened for both academic achievement and maturity. HOME-SCHOOLED STUDENTS:

Home-schooled applicants must meet the same overall admission requirements. The secondary school report for home-schooled applicants must include a summary of the home-schooling program, a complete transcript with course descriptions, bibliography of textbooks, description of evaluation methods, and the actual grades or evaluations.

Home-schooled applicants must meet the same high school curricular standard expected of all applicants. A letter of recommendation from an academic professional who is familiar with the individual applicant, other than the home-schooling teacher/parent, should be included with the application.
