INTRODUCTION
In 2005, JHU Summer and Intersession Programs launched the first season of Hopkins Summer Outdoor Films. Since that time it has become increasingly popular, drawing weekly audiences of 300 to 500 people from the Hopkins campus and surrounding communities.
Each year throughout June and July, family-friendly movies are on Friday nights. These free films are shown on a giant screen on the Keyser Quad lawn, with the historic Gilman Hall clock tower as a backdrop.
While waiting for the sun to set, guests enjoy live music from both established and up-and-coming bands and solo artists from a variety of musical genres.
Guests are invited to bring low-profile beach chairs, blankets and snacks. For-sale items are also provided by Chesapeake Foods.
