Dean of Students
Dean of Students
We can’t stress this enough: Homewood is your home. You might have chosen Johns Hopkins University for the academics, but it’s everything surrounding that—the leadership experiences you’ll build in student organizations, the life skills you gain from living and socializing with others from across the globe, and the creative outlets that you’ll pursue—that will really shape your experience here.
The Dean of Students aims to cultivate an inclusive and healthy community that fosters growth, exploration, and engagement. The Dean’s team oversees student leadership and engagement, campus programming, diversity initiatives, creative arts, and student support. In fact, if it’s not happening in a classroom, there’s a good chance we might be involved:
- The Student Engagement team spans a whole host of the meaningful things students do outside the classroom—from student leadership and organizations to Fraternity and Sorority Life and from tradition programming to arts and media engagement. Never a dull moment!
- The Student Outreach and Support team provides support and assistance, including interventions, advocacy, referrals, and follow-up services for students who are experiencing significant difficulties.
- Our Student/Community Liaison supports students in their successful transition from campus residence halls to becoming positive members and engaged neighbors in our surrounding communities.
- Our close partners in Diversity and Inclusion provide opportunities for leadership development, Religious and Spiritual Life, and resources for our Multicultural and LGBTQ communities and allies, among other things.
