Third SFB Student Chapter Seminar on Biomaterials

The Society for Biomaterials Student Chapter at Hopkins and the Department of Materials Science and Engineering carried the 3rd biomaterials seminar for the term Fall of 2004. Our guest speaker was professor Lynne Jones, director of the Center for Osteonecrosis Research and Education of the Johns Hopkins School of Medicine.  The title of the talk was "Orthopaedic Implants: The 21st Century", and it touched upon the history of these implants, their applications and clinical complications, and future technologies such as tissue engineering. Fall 2004 First SFB Student Chapter General Meeting

On last October 13th, the Society for Biomaterials Student Chapter at Hopkins had its first general meeting along with the graduate student biomaterials group. Graduate students working on different labs across the campus made short informal presentations about their current researches in order to show undergraduates the different possibilities that Johns Hopkins University offers in the exciting field of  biomaterials.
