On-Campus 

Theft - Fresh Foods Cafe - On July 15th at 12:20 PM, a CTY student placed her tote bag containing money and personal items in a storage cubicle at the cafe entrance. The student returned to retrieve the tote bag at 12:50 PM and the bag and contents were missing. Investigation continuing.

Case Update -Theft Unfounded - Fresh Food Cafe - On July 15th at 12:20 PM, a CTY student placed her tote bag containing money and personal items in a storage cubicle at the cafe entrance. The student returned to retrieve the tote bag at 12:50 PM and the bag and contents could not be located. Investigation revealed the student's tote bag had been accidentally covered in the cubicle by another student's backpack which prevented it from being seen. The tote bag and its contents have been located and returned to its owner. Case closed.

 

Theft- Gilman Hall, ground floor classroom- On July 18, 2013 at 1:40 PM, a class of CTY students and their instructor left the classroom for an outdoor break. At 2:00 PM, the group returned to the classroom. Shortly thereafter, four students noticed that property they had left behind on desktops during the break had been taken. Three IPhones and one IPad Touch were missing. Investigation continuing.

 

Off-Campus 

Attempted Theft of Bicycle Seat - E. 33rd St. at St. Paul St., northwest corner - On July 15th at 9:54 PM, a Campus officer observed two juvenile males at the bike rack acting suspicious and observed one bicycle at the rack missing a seat. The officer approached the juveniles who fled on their bicycles. One of the juveniles dropped a bicycle seat as he fled the area. The second juvenile was stopped by Campus officers at 32nd St. and N. Calvert St. and after investigation was given a trespass warning. Investigation continuing.

 

Theft from Auto - 2700 Blk. St. Paul St., odd numbered side - On July 15th at 1:00 PM, a JHU affiliate parked her vehicle at this location with a GPS unit placed on the passenger side floor of the vehicle. The affiliate returned at 4:30 PM and saw the driver's door window had been broken and the GPS was missing. Baltimore Police responded. Investigation continuing.

 

CCTV Monitoring / Attempt Theft - Unit Blk. E. University Parkway, bike rack - On July 21st at 6:16 PM, a male was observed removing the front tire from a bike which was secured to the rack and then carrying the tire away. Campus officers stopped the 56 year old non-affiliate who stated he thought the bicycle was abandoned. The bicycle tire was recovered and the male was given a trespass warning.

 

Theft - Wyman Building, north side loading dock - On July 18th at 4:00 PM, metal shelves, tools and a container of metal fittings were left unattended on the loading dock. On July 19th at 4:00 AM, employees returned to the loading dock and the items were missing. Investigation continuing.

 

 

 When traveling at night use the Blue Jay Shuttle service at 410-516-8700.  Blue Jay Shuttle Vans are operational from 5:45 PM to 4:00 AM.

All students are welcome to participate in the security ride along program.
