Weekly Campus Crime Report

 

April 15, 2013- April 22, 2013

 

On-Campus 

Theft - Bloomberg Center, 4th floor Office Suite - On April 16th at 4:40 PM, a graduate student left a laptop computer on a desktop in an office suite while on break. The graduate student returned to the office at 4:47 PM and observed the laptop computer was missing. Another graduate student was working at a cubicle in the same office suite during this time but didn't see anything suspicious. Investigation continuing.

 

Case Update - Suspect Arrested - Theft- Gilman Hall - On April 5, 2013, a Baltimore District Court Commissioner issued an arrest warrant for a suspect in connection with the theft of a JHU affiliate's wallet and credit cards from Gilman Hall on March 28, 2013.

On April 15, 2013, Baltimore Police arrested the suspect in this case. A court appearance is scheduled for the defendant on May 17, 2013, in Baltimore City District Court.

 

Attempt Theft - Bloomberg Center 6th Floor - On Apr. 18th at 2:58 PM, an employee returning to his unlocked office observed an unknown male exiting the office. Upon speaking with him, the unknown male claimed to be looking for a pen and left the area via the staircase. The employee then noticed that his laptop computer and iPhone in the office had been moved.

Shortly thereafter, the suspect was observed by another employee in a 1st floor office. After a brief discussion, the second employee escorted the suspect out of the building. The suspect was last seen crossing San Martin Drive running west. Investigation continuing. 

 

Description of the Suspect: Male, Black 16 - 19 years of age, 5' 7" tall, medium build, dark complexion, thin mustache, short brown hair, has a teardrop tattoo under his right eye, wearing a white hoodie with a blue logo on its back and a black backpack.

When traveling at night use the Blue Jay Shuttle service at 410-516-8700.  Blue Jay Shuttle Vans are operational from 5:45 PM to 4:00 AM.

All students are welcome to participate in the security ride along program.
