Theft/Recovered
Property - Jenkins
Hall, first floor office - On Jan. 29th between 10:00 AM and
12:50 PM, a computer bag was removed from underneath a desk inside a JHU
lecturer's unlocked and unattended office. At 12:53 PM, an Allied Barton
officer found the bag in a second floor trash can inside the Bloomberg
Building. Nothing was taken from the bag and it was returned to the owner.
Investigation continuing.
Theft
- Recreation Center, main level men's restroom - On Jan. 31st
at 7:00 PM, a JHU graduate student left his cell phone on the sink as he went
to change and then left the restroom. He returned approximately two minutes
later and the phone was missing. Investigation continuing.
Update/Recovered Property - Maryland Hall, first floor lab - On Jan. 29th at 12:45 PM, a JHU undergraduate placed his backpack containing a laptop computer and notebooks on the floor next to a trash can inside an unlocked and unattended lab. The student left the building and later returned at 1:10 PM to find his property missing.
-- On Jan. 30th a non-affiliate returned the missing laptop computer to Campus Security in good condition after finding it abandoned in Charles Village. The laptop has been returned to its owner.
Off Campus
ARREST-
Robbery/Purse Snatching
- 100 Blk West University Pkwy - On Jan. 29th at
approximately 8:18 PM, a visiting professor was walking westbound on the north
sidewalk when a female juvenile walking past her grabbed the professor's purse
and ran across the street. A campus officer parked on University Pkwy was
alerted when the victim began to chase the suspect. The campus officer quickly
apprehended the suspect. The purse was recovered and there were no
injuries. Baltimore Police responded and charged the juvenile with
robbery.
When traveling at night use the Blue Jay Shuttle service at 410-516-8700. Blue Jay Shuttle Vans are operational from 5:45 PM to 4:00 AM.
