November 12, 2012 – November 19, 2012

 

On-Campus

Attempt Robbery of Bicycle – Athletic Center Driveway – On Nov. 12, 2012, at approximately 8:06 PM, a JHU undergraduate was riding his bicycle northbound on the Athletic Center driveway when two suspects who were walking southbound approached him. Suspect #1 pushed the student off his bike which caused the student to fall to the ground. Suspect #1 told the student to walk away from the bicycle. The student picked up the bike at which time suspect #1 struck the student in the face. Other students that observed the incident yelled at the suspects who then fled and were last seen running eastbound on University Parkway.  The student received a minor abrasion on his left knee. The area was canvassed for the suspects with negative results. Baltimore Police responded. Investigation continuing. See Security Information Bulletin-

Suspects Descriptions:

Suspect #1- Male, black, 18 – 20 years of age, 5’-09” to 5’-10” tall, wearing a blue hooded sweatshirt.

Suspect #2- Male, black, 18 - 20 years of age, 6’-01” to 6’-02” tall, wearing an orange hooded sweatshirt.

Off- Campus

 

UPDATE- ARREST- Commercial Armed Robbery – Subway Restaurant, 3233 St. Paul St. – The Baltimore Police have arrested and charged an individual for the November 9th armed robbery of the Subway restaurant. The individual is currently incarcerated.

 

Assault – 200 Blk. E. 33rd St. – On Nov. 12, 2012, at approximately 7:42 PM, a JHU undergraduate was walking eastbound in the 200 block of East 33rd Street when two suspects who were walking westbound approached him. Suspect #1 grabbed the student around the legs and suspect #2 then struck him in the face knocking him to the ground. A witness to the incident stopped his vehicle and shouted at the suspects who fled the area. The student was not injured. Baltimore Police responded. The area was canvassed for the suspects with negative results. Investigation continuing. –This incident and the above incident appear to have been committed by the same suspects.

Suspects Descriptions

Suspect #1 – B/M, 18-20 years of age, 5’08”, blue hooded sweatshirt

Suspect#2 – B/M 18-20 years of age, 5’11”, orange hooded sweatshirt

Attempt Unarmed Robbery of Non-Affiliate – 2700 Blk. N. Charles St. (east side) - On Nov. 17th  at approximately 1:49 AM, a non-affiliate was walking northbound when a suspect pushed the non-affiliate  to the ground from behind and attempted to pull a backpack off the non-affiliate's back.  The non-affiliate started yelling at which time the suspect fled the area.  The non-affiliate received minor injuries due to the fall.  The area was canvassed for the suspect by BPD and Campus Security with negative results.

Suspect Description: Male, black, light complexion, 20-25 years of age, medium build, 5’-10”, wearing light blue hooded sweatshirt, and blue jeans.

Theft from Auto – 3400 Blk. Guilford Ave. – On Nov. 15th at 11:00 PM, a JHU graduate student parked her vehicle at this location and left it unlocked. The graduate student returned on Nov. 16th at 9:50 AM and noticed her sunglasses and loose change had been taken from on top of the center console. Investigation continuing.

When traveling at night use the Blue Jay Shuttle service at 410-516-8700.  Blue Jay Shuttle Vans are operational from 5:45 PM to 4:00 AM.
