Weekly Campus Crime Report

 

October 15, 2012 – October 22, 2012

 

On-Campus

Attempt Theft – Gilman Hall, classroom 55 – Between Oct. 12th at 3:00 PM and Oct. 15th at 11:00 AM, an unknown person attempted to remove a laptop computer from a desktop security bracket causing damage to the bracket and the computer screen. There were no signs of forced entry to the classroom. Investigation continuing

Theft – Wolman Hall, 2nd floor dorm room – On Oct. 20th between 3:00 AM and 9:00 AM, a visiting student’s wallet containing cash and ID cards went missing from the top of a trunk.  Investigation continuing.

Off Campus

Bicycle Theft – 3118 N. Calvert St. – On Oct. 17th between 12:00 PM and 8:00 PM, a bicycle belonging to a JHU junior was stolen from her back yard. Campus police responded and found a wooden beam that the bike was secured to was knocked away from the porch which allowed the bike to be free of the lock. Baltimore City Police were notified and the investigation is continuing.

Theft – Barnes and Noble, 3320 St. Paul Street – On October 18th at 11:10 AM, a non-affiliate left her laptop charger unattended in the first floor reading area while using the rest room. When she returned to the reading area at 11:19 AM, she discovered the laptop charger was missing. The store was checked for the charger with negative results. Investigation continuing.

ARREST – Attempt Theft of Bicycle Seat / CCTV Monitoring – Unit Block E. University Parkway, Interfaith Center Bike Rack – On Oct. 20th at 9:31 PM, CCTV monitoring observed a juvenile male remove a seat from a bicycle that was secured to the rack. Campus officers and BPD responded. The juvenile was taken into custody by BPD and issued a trespass warning.

REMINDERS

When traveling at night use the Blue Jay Shuttle service at 410-516-8700.  Blue Jay Shuttle Vans are operational from 5:45 PM to 4:00 AM.
