Weekly Campus Crime Report

September 17, 2012 – September 24, 2012

 

On-Campus

Theft from Auto - Rear of 2900 Blk. St. Paul St. (even-numbered side) - Between Sept. 13th at 7:00 PM and Sept. 16th at 4:00 PM, a GPS device was taken from inside the center console of a
senior undergraduate’s vehicle. There was no forced entry.  Investigation continuing.

Off Campus

 

Assault - 31st Street and Guilford Ave. - On Sept. 19th at 7:35 PM, a JHU graduate student reports that while walking east on 31st Street, he passed six male juveniles walking westbound.  One of the juveniles, for no apparent reason, struck him across the nose with an open hand.  The victim ran to his residence without being pursued and called Campus Security as the juveniles continued walking westbound.  Investigation revealed the juvenile said nothing prior to the assault. A search of the area was conducted with negative results.  Investigation continuing.

Motor Vehicle Accident (Single Vehicle, No Injury) - 3400 Blk. San Martin Drive - On Sept. 20th at 11:40 PM, a graduate student lost control of his vehicle that was traveling southbound. The vehicle exited the roadway on the right side and struck wooden posts, the Stony Run bridge pillar and a tree. Baltimore Police and the Fire Department responded. The graduate student driver and non-affiliated passenger were not injured.

Motor Vehicle Accident (Non-Affiliate Injured) – Unit Blk. E. University Parkway (eastbound lane) – On Sept. 22nd at approximately 4:58 PM, a taxi cab turned left from southbound N. Charles St. onto eastbound University Parkway and struck a non-affiliated female who apparently ran out in front of the vehicle when she crossed the street. The non-affiliate was not using the crosswalk. The Baltimore Police and an ambulance responded. The pedestrian was taken to Johns Hopkins Hospital for treatment.

 

Motor Vehicle Accident (Property Damage Only) -- 3400 Blk. San Martin Drive – On Sept. 22nd at 9:12 PM, a JHU undergraduate lost control of her vehicle that was traveling southbound. The vehicle left the roadway on the right side and struck wooden posts which had been damaged from an accident on Sept. 20th. There were no injuries reported. Baltimore Police responded. Investigation continuing.

Vandalism – 1101 E. 33rd St., Eastern Campus, Lower Parking Lot – On Sept. 21st at 10:25 PM, it was reported that unknown individuals threw bricks and broke two side windows of the guard booth. The time this incident occurred is unknown. Investigation continuing.

When traveling at night use the Blue Jay Shuttle service at 410-516-8700.  Blue Jay Shuttle Vans are operational from 5:45 PM to 4:00 AM.
