September 4, 2012 – September 10, 2012

 

On-Campus

Theft - Recreation Center - On Sept. 6th at 9:22 PM, an undergraduate placed her J-card inside an unsecured cubby at the weight room. The undergraduate returned at 9:45 PM and the J-card was missing. Investigation continuing.

Off Campus

Motor Vehicle/Pedestrian Accident - Unit Blk.,  East 33rd St. and N. Charles St. - On Sept. 5th at 11:43 AM,  a student was walking north on N. Charles Street crossing 33rd Street in the crosswalk. A vehicle turned right onto 33rd Street from N. Charles Street and struck the student. The student was treated for minor injuries at the scene by a Baltimore Fire Department medic unit. Baltimore Police are investigating the incident. 

ARREST of Non-Affiliate (Commercial Burglary) 3003 N. Charles St., Moxie’s Salon – On Sept. 8th at 11:50 PM, a campus officer observed a male climbing through an outside window into the establishment. Campus officers stopped the non-affiliate suspect and contacted the Baltimore Police.  Baltimore Police responded and arrested the suspect for burglary.  

 

Attempted Unarmed Robbery3000 Blk. Guilford Ave. – On Sept. 8th at 11:50 PM, a JHU undergraduate was walking northbound, on the left sidewalk. Five unknown juvenile males approached the undergraduate. One of the juveniles attempted to grab the undergraduate’s shirt and tried to remove an IPhone from his hand. The undergraduate broke free running north as the juveniles ran south. Baltimore Police and campus officers searched the area with negative results. There were no injuries or loss of property. Investigation continuing.

Suspect Descriptions- Five black males, approximately 14-17 years of age. One suspect was wearing a black hoodie. A second suspect was wearing a baseball cap. No other descriptions were given.  See Security Bulletin- http://www.jhu.edu/security/SIB_2012FA01.html

 

Theft 3100 Wyman Park Drive, Wyman Building 5th floor – On Sept. 6th between 8:30 AM and 3:15 PM, an unknown person took an employee’s leather purse containing cash and credit/debit cards from a desk drawer inside an unlocked office. Credit/debit cards were used at two off-campus businesses. Baltimore Police were notified. Investigation continuing.

 

When traveling at night use the Blue Jay Shuttle service at 410-516-8700.  Blue Jay Shuttle Vans are operational from 5:45 PM to 4:00 AM.
