Weekly Campus Crime Report

 

May 14, 2012 – May 21, 2012

 

On-Campus

Theft- Garland Hall Room 124- Between May 11th at 5:00 PM and May 14th at 9:00 AM, unknown individual(s) entered the file room and removed a computer monitor which was being stored on the floor. Investigation continuing

Theft- AMR 2- communal bathroom - On May 17th at 9:00 AM, a JHU undergraduate placed his I-phone on the sink before taking a shower. The undergraduate exited the shower at 9:15 AM and the I-phone was missing. A check of the area was conducted with negative results. Investigation continuing.

Theft- Mattin Center, Orientation Room- On May 17th at 1:00 AM, a JHU undergraduate placed his laptop computer in the office. At 8:00 AM the student returned to the office and the laptop computer was missing. Investigation continuing.

Theft- Recreation Center- On May 17th at 5:30PM, a JHU undergraduate left his I-phone on the side of the basketball court while playing a game. The undergraduate went to retrieve the phone at 5:55 PM and saw it was missing. Investigation Continuing.

Off Campus

 

ARREST- Assault /CDS Violation- 3301 North Charles St. - On May 15th at 7:08 PM, a Campus officer responded to the balcony of Nolan’s Cafe after smelling what he believed to be marijuana. The officer identified a non-affiliated male on the balcony as the source of the odor. As the officer approached, the male threw an item he had been smoking off the balcony. During the investigation, the suspect refused to cooperate and climbed onto the ledge of the balcony as he was pulling an officer’s arm. Off duty Baltimore Police working for JHU responded and placed the suspect under arrest. Baltimore Police charged the suspect with possession of marijuana and assault. There were no injuries.

Attempted Burglary (Residential Garage) 2900 Blk. Wyman Parkway (even numbered side)-On May 18th at 12:30 PM, an unknown male was observed breaking a pane of glass out of an affiliate’s garage door window. The male failed to gain entry and left the scene. Baltimore Police and campus officers searched the area with negative results. Investigation continuing.

Suspect Description: Male, black, 5’-08’’ to 6’-00’’, 160-175 lbs, clean shaven, short black hair, blue baseball cap, blue t-shirt and blue jeans, age is unknown.

 

Burglary (Residential Garage)2900 Blk. Wyman Parkway (even numbered side) – On May 18th between 1:00 PM and 1:30 PM, unknown suspect(s) entered an affiliate’s open garage and removed a bicycle. Baltimore Police responded. Investigation continuing.

Attempted Theft from AutoRear of 2900 Blk. St. Paul St. (even-numbered side) – On May 20th between 10:00 AM and 8:18 PM, an unknown person broke a side window to enter a JHU undergraduate’s vehicle which was parked inside an open garage. The vehicle’s glove compartment and console had been gone through but nothing appeared to have been taken. A campus officer and an off-duty Baltimore Police officer working for JHU responded. Investigation continuing.

REMINDERS

When traveling at night use the Blue Jay Shuttle service at 410-516-8700.  Blue Jay Shuttle Vans are operational from 5:45 PM to 4:00 AM.
