August 29, 2011 – September 6, 2011

 

On Campus

 

Theft Maryland Hall room 126 – On Aug. 29th between 11:00 AM and 11:45 AM, an undergraduate’s unattended laptop computer was taken from a desk.  The door to the office, which is shared by a number of students, had been left unlocked. Investigation continuing.

 

Theft – Shaffer Hall (South Side Bike Rack) – On Aug. 30th at 11:15 PM, a graduate student secured his bicycle at this location. Between 11:25 PM and 11:32 PM, two side bags containing bike gloves were taken. Three bicycle lights were taken from a bag on the front of the bike. Investigation continuing.

 

Theft Latrobe Hall Room 216-A – Between Sep. 2nd at 6:15 PM and Sep. 5th at 2:00 PM, a graduate student’s laptop computer was taken from a desk inside the office. There was no sign of forced entry. The office is shared with nine other graduate students. Investigation continuing.

 

Theft Charles Commons 3rd floor conference room hallway area – On Sep. 3rd between 7:50 PM and 9:30 PM, an undergraduate’s unattended iPod Touch and Bose iPod speaker system were taken from the floor in the hallway near the Barber Conference room. Investigation continuing.

 

 

Off Campus

 

Burglary - 300 Blk E. University Pkwy – On Sept. 1st at 11:27 PM, a non-affiliate reported being awakened in the rear bedroom of his apartment to an unknown male, who fled upon seeing him. Point of entry is believed to have been a window on the north side of the residence that was discovered open. The non – affiliate said the window had been unlocked but closed earlier in the day. The area was checked with negative results.  Investigation continuing.

 

Burglary (Private Residence) – 3000 Blk. Guilford Ave. (even-numbered side) – On Sep. 4th at 12:00 AM, a JHMI affiliate left his 3rd floor apartment. At 12:45 AM, the affiliate returned and noticed two laptop computers, an external hard drive, a flash drive and a backpack had been taken from the apartment. Entry had been gained through a kitchen window next to the fire escape. Baltimore Police responded. Investigation continuing.

 

Burglary (Private Residence)200 Blk. E. 33rd St. (odd-numbered side) – On Sep. 4th at 11:00 PM an undergraduate left his residence. Upon returning on Sep. 5th at 4:00 AM, the undergraduate noticed two laptop computers, an external hard drive, two backpacks and a phone charger had been taken from his residence. Entry point is believed to be a basement door which was found unlocked. There were no signs of forced entry. Baltimore Police responded. Investigation continuing.

 

Common Assault (Student on Student, Alcohol Related) 2900 Wyman Parkway – On Sep. 4th at 1:20 AM, during an argument an undergraduate was pushed and then struck by another student who then fled on foot. The victim was treated by medics at the scene for a minor injury and declined further medical attention. Baltimore Police responded. Investigation continuing.

When traveling at night use the Blue Jay Shuttle service at 410-516-8700.  Blue Jay Shuttle Vans are operational from 5:00 PM to 3:00 AM.
