June 6, 2011 – June 13, 2011

On Campus

ARREST – Bicycle Theft / CCTV Monitoring – Recreation Center Bike Rack – On June 11th at 11:36 PM, a male was observed using bolt-cutters to cut the cable securing a bike to the bike rack and then riding it toward University Parkway. Campus officers stopped the suspect on University Parkway where an off-duty Baltimore Police officer working for JHU arrested him on charge of bicycle theft.

Off Campus

Theft (Partial Recovery) – 2701 N. Charles St., 6th floor – On June 6th between 11:30 AM and 12:00 PM, an employee’s wallet containing cash was taken from an unattended backpack on the floor inside an open office. An unknown male, 40 – 45 years of age, wearing a backpack was seen near the office during this time. The wallet was later recovered by a student on St. Paul St. but the cash had been removed. Baltimore Police responded.
Burglary- ARREST- 3000 Blk. Guilford Ave- On June 8th at 7:45 AM, a non-affiliate heard noises coming from the downstairs of her residence. She went downstairs and noticed someone had just fled the residence. The non affiliate recognized some property had been taken. Baltimore Police checked the area and located a suspect in the 2800 Blk of Greenmount Ave. that was in possession of the property from the residence. The suspect was charged with burglary. Investigation revealed the suspect had entered the residence through a rear window.
Burglary – 3200 Blk. N Charles St. – Between June 8th at 11:00 PM and June 9th at 1:00 AM, unknown subject(s) entered an apartment through an unlocked window and removed an 11 year old laptop computer from a bedroom desk. The doors to the bedroom as well as a window to an adjacent room were unlocked at the time of the burglary. Baltimore Police responded. Investigation continuing.
Burglary (Private Residence) – 2900 Blk. Wyman Parkway – On June 10th between 9:00 PM and 10:15 PM, a laptop computer and a 27” high-definition TV were taken from a graduate student’s residence. No signs of forced entry. The student found the front door ajar on arriving at the house. Baltimore Police responded. Investigation continuing.
Theft from Auto – Baltimore Museum of Art Parkinig Lot, 10 Art Museum Drive – On June 11th between 1:00 PM and 3:45 PM, a canvas bag containing a digital camera and its case was taken from the floor of a non-affiliate’s parked vehicle. A rear side window had been broken to gain entry. Baltimore Police and museum security responded. Investigation continuing.
