Weekly Campus Crime Report

 

 

October 26, 2009 – November 2, 2009

 

 

 

On Campus

Theft – Recreation Center -- On Oct. 28th at 3:10 PM, a JHU freshman reported that he placed his I-Phone either in a storage cubby or laid it on the floor of the Weight Room and when he returned to check his phone it was missing. The area was searched with negative results.

Investigation continuing.

 

Theft Recreation Center – On Oct. 31st between 5:30 PM and 6:30 PM, an undergraduate’s silver necklace was taken from an unlocked locker in the locker room near the swimming pool. This incident was reported on Nov. 1st at 12:10 PM. Investigation continuing.

 

 

 

Off Campus

 

Vandalism (ARREST) – 300 Blk. E. University Pkwy –On Oct. 29th at 1:47 AM, a Campus Officer and an off-duty Baltimore Police Officer working for JHU responded to a call for vehicles being spray painted in the Oakenshawe neighborhood.  Further investigation revealed that several vehicles and garages had been spray painted.  A search of the area was conducted and four non-affiliated suspects were stopped by the off-duty Baltimore City Police Officer in the immediate vicinity and found to be in possession of cans of orange spray paint.  These individuals were placed under arrest by the off-duty Police Officer.  Investigation continuing.

Burglary (Private Residence) -- Peabody Apts., 205 E. 30th St.On October 31st between 8:30 PM and 10:00 PM, two backpacks containing laptop computers were taken from the living room and the bedroom of senior undergraduates on the 2nd floor. There were signs that entry had been gained via an open bedroom window. Baltimore Police responded. Investigation continuing.

 

Malicious Destruction Wyman West Lot – Between Oct. 31st at 8:00 PM and Nov. 1st at 2:00 AM, four tires on a post-doctoral fellow’s parked car were punctured by a sharp object. This incident was reported on Nov. 1st at 5:10 PM.

When traveling at night use the Security Department’s escort service at 410-516-8700.  Security Escort Vans are operational from 5:00 PM to 3:00AM.
