On Campus
Theft From Building – Recreation Center (Men’s locker room) – Between Sept. 28th at 9:30 PM, and Sept. 29th at 9:45 AM, a visiting student reported that he left his backpack, containing his wallet with cash, J-Card and a credit card, unattended for about a minute on a bench. The student did not miss his wallet until the next morning. A search of the area was conducted with negative results. Investigation continuing.
Off Campus
Burglary (Private Residence) -- 3200 Blk. Guilford Ave (eastside) – Between Sept. 25th at 4:00 PM and Sept 28th at 3:30 PM, $25 in quarters were taken from an affiliate’s 1st floor apartment. The burglar gained entry by tearing a ground floor window screen and squeezing in under a set of metal bars. Baltimore Police responded. Investigation continuing.
Auto Theft – 3800 Blk. Tudor Arms Ave. – Between Sept. 22nd at 4:00 PM, and Sept. 26 at 6:00 PM, a graduate student reported his vehicle being stolen. The incident was not reported until Sept. 28th at 8:34 AM. Investigation continuing.
Burglary – 300 Blk. E. University Parkway (south side) – Between Sept. 30th at 10:00 PM and Oct. 1st at 2:20 AM, a wireless keyboard and a laptop bag were taken from the bedroom of a JHU undergraduate. A third floor window leading to the second floor roof was found open. No signs of forced entry to the house. Baltimore Police responded. Investigation continuing.
Destruction of Property – 3200 Blk. N. Calvert Street – On Sept 30th at 10:20 PM, a Campus Officer responded for a report that a Ford Taurus parked at the location had the front passenger window broken. Upon arrival it was determined the vehicle belonged to a JHU senior and no property was missing. Investigation continuing
Theft From Auto – 3200 Blk. N. Calvert Street. – On Sept 30th at 10:20 PM, while investigating a call for destruction of property a Campus Officer discovered a silver Toyota Matrix with the driver’s side window broken. After further investigation it was determined the vehicle belonged to a JHU junior and a wallet containing currency and credit cards was missing from the vehicle. Investigation continuing
Burglary – 300 Blk. E. 33rd St. –
Between Sept. 30th at 6:00 PM and Oct. 1st at 2:00 AM, a
JHU junior reported that person(s) unknown entered his home by removing a 2nd
floor window air conditioner and then removed several personal items from his
bedroom. This incident was reported on Oct. 1st at 8:28
PM. Baltimore Police responded. Investigation continuing.
Theft –Shoplifting – Barnes & Noble Bookstore – On Oct. 1st at 6:44 PM, Campus Officers and an off duty Baltimore Police Officer working for JHU and responded to the bookstore for an unknown male shoplifting books. The male was located and issued a criminal citation for shoplifting as well as trespass warnings for Barnes and Noble Bookstores.
