Weekly Campus Crime Report

On Campus

 

                        

Bicycle TheftHodson Hall Bike Rack – Between Aug. 20th at 2:30 PM and Aug. 21st at 7:45 PM, a graduate student’s mountain bike was taken; the cable lock securing it to the rack had been cut.  Investigation continuing.

 

 

 

 Off Campus

 

 

Trespassing:

 – Barnes and Nobel Book Store – On August 20th at 4:14 PM, the Store Manager reported that an unknown male and female, believed to be book thieves, were in the store.  Furthermore, the manager reported that the female was observed removing the security tags from two books.  Once the female realized she was being observed, she placed the books on a shelf and quickly exited the store.   An off duty Baltimore Police Officer working for JHU responded, located and investigated both subjects and subsequently issued trespass warnings.

 

JHU Press Building – On August 20th at 4:34 AM, a contractor reported that he observed a suspicious male on the JHU Pres Building parking lot looking into car windows.  Campus Officers responded and observed a male fitting the description given by the contractor in the 2800 blk. of St. Paul St.   Baltimore Police responded, investigated the subject and issued a trespass warning for Johns Hopkins properties.

 

Burglary (Private Residence)200 Blk. E.32nd St. – On Aug. 22nd between 1:00 AM and 3:26 AM, a laptop computer, backpack, bankcards, cash and passports were taken from the front room of undergraduates’ residence. One resident went to bed leaving the front windows open; the other resident discovered property missing on returning home. Entry had been gained by cutting the screen of an open front window that was accessible from the front porch.  Baltimore Police responded.  Investigation continuing.

 

Auto / Pedestrian Accident (Pedestrian Fatality, Non-Affiliate)E. 31st & N. Calvert Sts. – Aug. 21st at 9:06 PM, a non-affiliated elderly female stepped into the path of a northbound vehicle with the green light and was struck.  She was taken to Johns Hopkins Hospital where she expired.  The accident is being investigated by Baltimore Police.
