August 3, 2009 – August 10, 2009

 

 

 

On Campus

 

Theft Recreation Center – On August 3rd between7:30 PM and 8:15 PM, a student’s unattended blackberry was taken from the floor next to the basketball court.  Investigation continuing.

 

Theft -- Recreation Center – On August 2nd between 12:00 Noon and 1:00PM, a sophomore student reported that he was in the weight room and placed his cell phone and I-Pod in an unsecured locker and when he returned, his property was missing.  The front desk employees were asked about the property with negative results.  Investigation continuing. This incident was reported on August 6th at 3:50 PM.

 

ARREST – Bicycle Theft / CCTV Observation Charles Commons, northwest bike rack – On Aug. 9th at 11:39 PM four males were observed on CCTV taking four bicycles from the rack and fleeing north on Charles Street. Three bicycles were abandoned by the males when they saw campus officers were in pursuit.  One suspect, a 23-year old non-affiliate was arrested by an off-duty Baltimore Police Officer working for Hopkins.  Baltimore Police responded.  Investigation continuing.

 

Bicycle Theft – JHMI Shuttle Bus Stop Bike Rack at Interfaith Center -- at Aug. 7th at 11:07 PM, a bicycle was reported stolen from the Interfaith bicycle rack.  Investigation continuing.

 

 

 Off Campus

 

Assault (Placing Hands) – Wyman –Building #3 – On August 6th at 11:00 PM, during a conversation, a male employee touched a female employee in an inappropriate manner.  No injuries were reported.  Investigation continuing.

 

Armed Robbery (Non-Affiliate) 2800 Blk. St. Paul St. – On Aug. 8th at 11:55 PM, Baltimore Police advise that a non-affiliate was robbed of a cell phone by four unknown males one of whom brandished a black handgun.  No injuries.  The suspects were last seen running south in the 2700 blk. St. Paul Street.  Baltimore Police searched the area with negative results.  Baltimore Police investigating incident.  See Security Bulletin SU-2 at www.jhu.edu/~security.
