Weekly Campus Crime Report

 

 

April 13, 2009 – April 20, 2009

 

 

 

On Campus

 

Theft – Wolman Hall, Housing Office – Between April 9th at 5:00 PM and April 14th at 3:20 PM, an unattended gift card, several cookies and a sleeve of crackers were taken from a desk top in an office.  The incident was reported on April 14th at 4:20 PM.  Investigation continuing.         

                                     

Theft Homewood field – On April 16th at 6:50 PM, an undergraduate reported that she placed her wallet against the wall under the bleachers before jogging. When she returned to retrieve her wallet she discovered her credit cards and a cell phone missing.  Investigation continuing.  

 

 Disorderly IntoxicationBloomberg Center Courtyard Young Alumni Tent – April 18th at 1:21 AM, HERU and an ambulance responded for a semi-conscious alumnus serving as a contract employee for the event.  The alumnus became combative pushing a HERU member and then punching a campus officer.  An off-duty Baltimore Police Officer working for Hopkins responded.  The male was subsequently subdued and admitted to Union Memorial Hospital on an emergency petition.

 

Disorderly IntoxicationDecker Garden, Fiji Islander Party – April 18th at 4:50 PM, an underage intoxicated freshman climbed over the fence enclosing the Decker Fountain and jumped into the water.  A campus officer and a S.A.F.E. guard pulled the freshman out of the water and removed him from the area.  Baltimore Police responded and transported the student to the Northern District station where he was issued a civil citation for disorderly drinking and released.

                                         

 

 

 Off Campus

 

Attempt Theft from Auto – 200 BLK E. 29th St. – Between April 12th at 7:00 PM and April 14th at 12:10 PM, a JHU graduate student reported that an unknown person broke the front driver’s side window out of his car with an unknown object.  After further investigation it was discovered that the unknown person opened the glove compartment removed the contents and threw them on the passenger side floor. Nothing was taken from the vehicle. Baltimore Police responded. Investigation

 

Auto TheftEastern Campus- Lower Parking Lot—On April 15, at 4:09 PM, Baltimore City Police and Campus Officer’s respond to a report of a stolen auto. An employee parked her vehicle on the lower parking lot around 8:05 AM and when she returned to her vehicle around 3:45 PM her vehicle was not there.  Investigation continuing.

 

 Theft (Bicycle Parts) – 2936 St. Paul St. – On April 16th between 3:00AM and 9:00 AM an undergraduate reports that an unknown person removed the rear wheel of her bicycle that was secured to a railing in front of the building.  The incident was reported at 11:00 AM.   Investigation continuing.

 

TWO ARRESTS 100 Blk. E. 33rd St. - April 18th 2:40 AM,   An alumnus was arrested by Baltimore Police when he refused to obey a police order not to interfere with the officer’s arrest of a non-affiliated female for public urination and indecent exposure.

 

Common Assault (Alcohol Related) 3300 Blk. St. Paul St. (east side) – April 19th at 1:37 AM, as a junior undergraduate walked to Bradford Apts. four males approached him and called him names.  As the student was about to walk into Bradford Apts., one of the males ran up and punched him in the face and then all four males fled north on St. Paul St.  Campus officers located and identified four suspects in the 3500 Blk. of St. Paul St.  The student was driven to the 3500 block St. Paul Street where he identified one of the four suspects as his assailant.  The Baltimore Police transported the student to the Court Commissioner’s Office to pursue obtaining a warrant for the suspect.  Minor injuries.  Refused medical treatment.

 

Theft – PJ’s Pub, 3333 N. Charles St. – On April 17th at 11:30 PM, a freshman left her bag with a friend temporarily and on returning discovered that the friend had left the establishment and that her cell phone, $5 cash, ID and J-Card were missing from her bag.  Investigation continuing.

 

 

 

REMINDERS

 

 

When traveling at night use the Security Department’s escort service at 410-516-8700.  Security Escort Vans are operational from 5:00 PM to 3:00AM.

During exam week an Escort Van will also be running from 3:00 AM to 7:00 AM as a service to students studying on campus.
