Theft from Auto3200 Blk. N. Calvert St. – On March 30th between 12:00 PM and 11:59 PM, an MP3 player was taken from the glove compartment of an undergraduate’s parked vehicle.  Entry had been gained to the vehicle by breaking a passenger side window with an unknown object.  Baltimore Police responded.  Investigation continuing. 

 

ARREST UPDATE – Unarmed Robbery - 100 Blk. W. 39th Street –March 22nd at 2:20 AM.  On March 30th Baltimore Police executed a search and seizure warrant on the home of a juvenile suspect in this case.   The juvenile was subsequently arrested and charged with unarmed robbery.  Investigation is continuing to identify the other suspects involved in this robbery.

 

Assault - 3300 N. Charles Street - On March 31st at 1:15 AM, a senior undergraduate reports that while waiting to cross the 3300 block of N. Charles Street he was struck by a paintball fired from a passing vehicle.  Paintball splatters were also discovered on the wall, gate and e-phone in front of the Charles Street Market, 3339 N. Charles Street.  Reported to Campus Safety and Security at 4:52 PM.  Baltimore Police notified.  Investigation continuing.

 

ARREST UPDATE – Unarmed Robbery - 100 Blk. W. 39th Street –March 22nd at 2:20 AM.  On April 1st Baltimore Police report that three additional persons were arrested and charged, two adults and one juvenile, with the March 22nd unarmed robbery.  All four suspects have been arrested in this incident.

 

Burglary (Private Residence)3025 St Paul Street – On April 1st between 10:00 AM and 2:00 PM, two digital cameras, cell phone, mountain bike and a laptop were taken from the home of several JHU affiliates.  The suspect(s) gained entry via an unlocked front door and then forced open a second vestibule door.  Police responded.  Investigation continuing.

 

RobberyCorner of  W. 29th Street and Maryland Avenue – On April 3rd at 2:00 PM, a contractual female employee reports that while standing at the corner of  W. 29th Street and Maryland Avenue she was approached from the rear by an unknown male who placed a hard object to her side and demanded property.  The suspect was given a shoulder bag that contained money, cell phone, keys and personal papers in the name of the victim and then the suspect fled in an unknown direction.  No injuries.  Investigation continuing.  See Security Bulletin SP-5 at www.jhu.edu/~security.

 

ARREST – Trespassing (Private Apartment Building) -3500 Blk. Beech Ave. – On April 5th at 12:26 AM, Baltimore Police and campus officers responded for a graduate student’s report of an unknown male on his rear balcony looking through a sliding glass door. A campus officer located and detained the suspect on 3500 Blk. Keswick Road where he was positively identified. Baltimore Police arrested the suspect and charged him with trespassing. Investigation continuing into the suspect’s possible involvement in area burglaries.

 

ARREST – Common Assault (Alcohol Related) Unit Blk. E. 33rd St. at Lovegrove St. – On April 5th at 1:55 AM, a campus officer responding for a report of a street fight in the 3300 Block of St. Paul St. attempted to stop three males running west on E. 33rd St.  One of the males threatened the officer, spat at him and, on being apprehended by the campus officer, attempted to strike him.  The assailant, an underage non-affiliate, was arrested by Baltimore Police and charged with assault.   The juvenile advised the arresting officer he had been drinking at “The Den”, 3327 St. Paul Street.

 

Assault (Paintball Gun)3500 Blk. N. Charles St. (west side) – On April 5th at 7:45 PM, a senior undergraduate was struck in the chest by a paintball pellet shot from a dark-colored sedan travelling southbound in the service lane.  Investigation continuing.

 

 

 

 

 

REMINDERS

 

 

When traveling at night use the Security Department’s escort service at 410-516-8700.  Security Escort Vans are operational from 5:00 PM to 3:00AM.

During exam week an Escort Van will also be running from 3:00 AM to 7:00 AM as a service to students studying on campus.
