Weekly Campus Crime Report

On Campus

 

STUDENT ARRESTED - Weapons ViolationCharles Commons (Loading Dock area) - On Feb 5th at 7:50 PM a Campus Officer was approached by a undergraduate who requested assistance in retrieving property from a trash compactor that was accidentally thrown down the trash chute.  While the student was bending over to retrieve the trash, the Campus Officer observed a handgun in the student’s waist band.  The Campus Officer took custody of the handgun.   Baltimore City Police responded and placed the student under arrest for a handgun violation.  Investigation is continuing.

 

Theft AMR I, Wood House – Between Feb. 7th at 2:00 PM and Feb. 8th 1:00 PM, an unattended I-Pod was taken from the top of a desk in a resident’s room.  No sign of forced entry.  Investigation is continuing.

 

CCTV Observation / Suspicious Activity - Wolman Hall Bike Rack - On Feb, 7th at 3:46 AM, a college-age male was observed tampering with bike locks.  He was identified as a non-affiliate and given a trespass warning.  Baltimore Police responded.

 

 

 

 Off Campus

 

Suspicious Activity (Juveniles) – E. 30th & N. Calvert Sts. – On Feb. 2nd at 8:45 PM, an Allied Barton guard on patrol reported three male juveniles on bikes looking into parked cars. They rode off in different directions as a Campus Officer in a patrol vehicle approached. An employee of the liquor store on the corner reported that the juveniles had been in the store behaving suspiciously and had dropped an object on Hunter Street as they rode away.  Baltimore Police responded and recovered the object, a plastic toy handgun.  

 

Damage to Vehicle – Unit Blk. Art Museum Drive – On Feb. 2nd between 12:10 PM and 1:40 PM, the passenger side window of an affiliate’s parked vehicle was broken by an unknown object.  No property removed from the vehicle.  Baltimore Police were notified.

 

Theft- PJ’s Pub (3333 N Charles St) - On Feb 4th at 11:40 PM, two undergraduates placed their purses containing their cell phones, J-cards, keys, and money on a table in the back of the bar.  An unknown male suspect was observed taking the purses and running out of the bar.  The suspect fled in an unknown direction.  Baltimore City responded.  Area canvassed with negative results.  Investigation continuing.

 

 

 

 

 

REMINDERS

 

 

When traveling at night use the Security Department’s escort service at 410-516-8700.  Security Escort Vans are operational from 5:00 PM to 3:00AM.

During exam week an Escort Van will also be running from 3:00 AM to 7:00 AM as a service to students studying on campus.
