 Off Campus

 

Commercial Burglary – Donna’s Café, 3101 St. Paul St. – On Jan. 5th at 11:48 PM, an unknown person broke a window, entered the café and took petty cash from the cash register.  Baltimore Police, an off-duty Baltimore Police Officer working for JHU and a Campus Officer responded. Investigation continuing.

 

ARREST UPDATE - Baltimore Police report that a burglary suspect was arrested on January 6, 2009 in the 1100 block of Maryland Avenue while committing a burglary.  Based on further investigation the suspect was charged with the burglaries on December 21, 2008 of both Barnes and Noble Bookstore and Cold Stone Creamery in Charles Village.  Investigation is continuing by Baltimore Police Detectives to determine this suspect’s involvement in other area burglaries.

 

Arrest – TrespassingCharles Commons – On Jan 7th at 3:55 PM, a Campus Officer observed a known trespasser in the building and stopped him. An off duty Baltimore Police Officer working for JHU, Campus Officers and Baltimore Police responded. The non-affiliated male was arrested and charged with trespassing. He had been previously arrested June 18th for trespassing.

 

Arrest – Attempt Shoplifting – Barnes & Noble Bookstore, 3330 St. Paul St.On Jan 7th at 7:12 PM, a store employee reported a non-affiliated male in the store with two text books which had had their security stickers removed. Campus Officers located the suspect in the men’s room, identified him as a suspect in previous shoplifting attempts at the store and at College of Notre Dame of Maryland Bookstore. Baltimore Police responded. The suspect was arrested.

 

 

 

 

 

REMINDERS

 

 

When traveling at night use the Security Department’s escort service at 410-516-8700.  Security Escort Vans are operational from 5:00 PM to 3:00AM.

During exam week an Escort Van will also be running from 3:00 AM to 7:00 AM as a service to students studying on campus.
