A postdoctoral position is available immediately in the Institute of Nanobiotechnology at Johns Hopkins University to develop sensors to measure the concentration of ions in human sweat. Abnormal ion concentrations are associated with a number of medically important conditions including cystic fibrosis and pseudohypoaldosteronism. The sensors will be used in the diagnosis and clinical management of these medical conditions. Candidates should have a Ph.D. in the physical sciences or engineering with expertise in one or more of the following areas: microfabrication, electrochemistry, instrumentation, or biophysics. All candidates must have strong written and oral communication skills, as well as a strong publication record. Candidates should preferably be US citizen or permanent resident.
