Salud runs 4 different projects.
All 4 projects share the common goal of alleviating the many barriers that Hispanic/Latino population face when seeking health care. Each project addresses different needs specific to this community.

The General Wolfe Elementary tutoring takes place every other Saturday from approximately 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. It is very important for those considering this project that you really try to come every time.

Our Interpretation Services address the linguistic barrier between health care providers and patients through the interpretation program at local clinics.

Children’s Health Project: The proposed community outreach project will facilitate the provision of medical homes to Baltimore’s Latino children by enrolling eligible uninsured children in public health insurance programs and by matching children without regular health providers with committed community pediatricians offering language and culturally appropriate services for Spanish-speaking patients.

HIV Testing Project: This project attempts to organize HIV testing for Hispanics in the community. We will lead educational workshops, assist at clinics, and research different resources for these Hispanic patients, as well as organize outreach efforts to raise awareness concerning this issue.

Baltimore Healthcare Services Directory (with National Student Partnerships): NSP works with clients who need to know where they can find financial assistance as well as affordable housing, healthcare, and transportation, among other things.
