Michael Muniak B.A.

I was raised and conditioned in beautiful Boyne City, Michigan. Previously surrounded by the Great Lakes, I decided to abandon that pastoral landscape and enclose myself within rowhouses to pursue undergraduate studies in Neuroscience at Johns Hopkins University, graduating with honors in 2005. Having not yet had my fill of Charm City, I am now a Graduate Student in the Department of Neuroscience at the Johns Hopkins School of Medicine.

I sport an unhealthy obsession with music, manifested by both mass consumption and occasional creation. My present focus is on experimental electronics and avant/free music. I am constantly working on my ability to create spontaneous improvised music using a laptop and miscellaneous electronics in both solo and group situations. I am also a member of the Red Room Collective that organizes weekly shows of experimental music in The Greatest City in America. I also donate a large portion of my blood, sweat, tears, and general quality of life towards the successful yearly execution of the world renowned High Zero Festival of Experimental Improvised Music, in which I have also performed.

In August 2009 I married an acupuncturist.

Cycling, cooking, watching obscure DVDs, breathing fresh air, and getting frostbite also have merit.
