HISTORY OF CHINESE MEDICINE (3) Hanson   Limit 20    How did Chinese conceptualize the human body, health and disease over the past 2,000 years?  How did these concepts change over time and differ according to region? Why do gender, class, and place matter?  Who practiced medicine in China, what did they practice, where, and how do we know what we know about them?  These are some of the questions students will engage by discussing the most recent historical, anthropological, and philosophical scholarship on the history of medicine in China and reading a wide range of primary sources on Chinese medicine in English translation.
