EXPERIMENTAL BIOMECHANICS (3) Belkoff   Prereq: 550.291 or equivalent An introduction to experimental methods used in biomechanical research. Standard experimental techniques will be applied to biological tissues, where applicable and novel techniques will be introduced. Topics include: strain gauges, extensometers, load transducers, optical kinematic tracking, digital image correlation, proper experimental design, calibration and error analysis. Of particular emphasis will be maintaining native tissue temperature and hydration. Laboratory will include "hands on" testing.
