EXPERIMENTAL BIOMECHANICS
(3)
Belkoff Prereq: 550.291 or equivalent
An introduction to experimental methods used in biomechanical
research. Standard experimental techniques will be applied to
biological tissues, where applicable and novel techniques will
be introduced. Topics include: strain gauges, extensometers, load
transducers, optical kinematic tracking, digital image correlation,
proper experimental design, calibration and error analysis. Of
particular emphasis will be maintaining native tissue temperature
and hydration. Laboratory will include "hands on" testing. |
