TOPICS IN GENDER HISTORY Ryan/Meyer-Fong The seminar will place the recent historiography of gender in transnational and comparative perspective. The first semester will be devoted to parallel readings on central themes and common problems in US and China gender history. Students may wish to focus on one national history or the other, but will be expected to enrich that knowledge by considering the contrasts and connections between the two national cultures. Members of the seminar are invited to enroll for the second semester and focus on more individual reading or research projects.
