TOPICS IN GENDER HISTORY
Ryan/Meyer-Fong
The
seminar will place the recent historiography of gender in transnational
and comparative perspective. The first semester will be devoted
to parallel readings on central themes and common problems in
US and China gender history. Students may wish to focus on one
national history or the other, but will be expected to enrich
that knowledge by considering the contrasts and connections between
the two national cultures. Members of the seminar are invited
to enroll for the second semester and focus on more individual
reading or research projects. |
