Supply Chain Shared Services has negotiated an agreement with Avis Rent A Car to meet the University’s car rental needs. This agreement features low rates, and all insurance coverages. When making car rental reservations, please call one of the designated travel agencies or call Avis directly at 1 800-331-1212 and use the corporate discount number A101914 to obtain the University's negotiated rates.

Loss Damage Waiver included when renting for business purposes only. Liability included at $100/300/25K limits when renting for business purposes only. Liability protection does NOT apply to rentals of mini vans and micro vans, or 12 or 15 passenger vehicles, when the vehicle is rented for the purpose of transporting a "Group". Free Preferred Renter membership for our frequent travelers. All vehicles should be converted to No Smoking status by August 15 th , 2009. Up to a $250 cleaning fee for smoking may apply.

The Avis Preferred Renter Program

The Avis Preferred Renter Program is available to all Johns Hopkins University travelers free of charge. Avis Preferred gets you on your way faster than ever. To enroll, simply complete an Avis Preferred Application. Some features of the Preferred Rental Program include: Go directly from the plane to the Avis courtesy bus, without stopping at the rental counter. Give the bus driver your name and you'll be taken directly to your car in the special Preferred Express parking facility. Your rental agreement and keys will be in the car. No forms to complete, nothing to sign. Show your rental agreement and license to the gate guard and you'll be on your way. Up to a $250 Cleaning Fee for Smoking May Apply.

In Case of Accident

Call the local police immediately to file a police report. Do this no matter how minor the accident. Fill out the accident report provided inside the rental agreement jacket. If the car is drivable, return to the nearest Avis to file the accident claim. Call the toll free emergency number provided on the rental jacket for assistance if needed. If the Avis vehicle is equipped with a car phone, the police and emergency number are free of charge.
