Supply Chain Shared Services is authorized to negotiate and execute contracts with suppliers to provide the University with the "lowest total cost" for needed goods and services. Contracts are negotiated to take advantage of the University's buying power, and ensure that the goods and services purchased provide the best value to the University.
When negotiating contracts, Supply Chain Shared Services considers the following:
- Supplier's overall pricing structure
- Supplier's ability to provide goods and services of appropriate quality
- Supplier's ability to deliver goods and services in a timely manner
- Supplier's service, support, exchange, and return policies
- Supplier's financial stability
- Total cost of doing business
