JHU is pleased to announce a new partnership with Advance Business Systems for the procurement of the full line of multifunctional black and white, and color digital copiers.

Significant Cost Savings

The partnership between Johns Hopkins Unviersity and Advance Business Systems is intended to provide the University the best possible equipment configuration and solutions at the most competitive pricing. Advance is offering significant savings to departments on new multifunctional products. Under this program, departments may reduce their current operating costs by trading in old equipment for new multifunctional products. Advance is offering special incentives to departments that do not currently have Advance equipment.

Dedicated Sales, Service, and Support

As part of the Johns Hopkins/Advance partnership program, a dedicated team of Advance Business Systems sales and customer service personnel will service the University community.

Advance has dedicated service technicians on-site at Johns Hopkins campuses Monday-Friday with after hours and weekend service available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. The average reponse time for JHU service calls is 4 hours or less. Maintenance downtime is minimized because Advance has local warehouses for storage of parts and supplies.

Procurement Options

Purchase - JHU will own the equipment and pay a one-time equipment invoice. There is the option to place the equipment under an Equipment Maintenance and Supply (EMS) Agreement that includes supplies.

Advance Lease* - JHU will pay a monthly fee for the leasing of the equipment. At the end of the term, there is an option to purchase the equipment or return it to Advance for a new unit or upgrade. There is the option to place the equipment under an Equipment Maintenance and Supply (EMS) Agreement that includes supplies.

Cost Per Copy Rental* - JHU will pay one monthly fee that includes rental of the equipment, service and supplies. There is no option to own the equipment.

*Upgrades and Custom billing - Advance Business Systems provides its own leasing services to Johns Hopkins University. Advance does not use 3rd Party Leasing companies. The result is that JHU enjoys the convenience of customized billing options and the flexibility to upgrade equipment should there be a need prior to the completion of the terms of a Lease or Cost per Copy Rental.

How to Buy

Supplies and services valued less than $2,500
JHU departments may use their procurement card, or generate a DCPO, to purchase supplies and services from Advance Business Systems valued at less that $2,500.

Equipment, supplies, and services valued in excess of $2,500
To request the purchase of items valued at greater than $2,500, please submit the following to Supply Chain Shared Services:

Return Policy

Advance guarantees to replace, without charge, any equipment not found to be operating in a satisfactory manner with an identical model or with a machine with comparable features and capabilities. The option for replacement requires that the equipment has been maintained under an Advance Service Contract and has been operated within Advance's recommended usage. This guarantee will be effective for three years on purchased equipment or the term of an Advance Lease or Cost Per Copy Rental.

Funding out arrangements are available in contracts with JHU grant-funded studies or departments whose long-term financial stability is uncertain.
