Advising & Resources:

We are committed to providing the finest academic and advising resources to prepare students for success. A small class of 25 to 27 students ensures that we will become well acquainted with each student. While we cannot guarantee admission to medical school, to date, 100% of our applicants to medical school have been admitted. Furthermore, the attrition rate is very low - less than 5% of the students who enrolled have left the program. The few students that withdrew did so for personal, non academic reasons.
Dave Trabilsy, former Director and Assistant Dean for Admissions at the Johns Hopkins School of Medicine, directs the Post-Baccalaureate Premedical Program. With over 25 years of experience in medical school admissions and advising premedical students, the director has a special insight into what medical schools value in selecting students.

A Wealth of Resources:
The Post-Bac Office provides extensive information about medical schools and the application and admissions process. The director also prepares a comprehensive premedical letter of recommendation based on personal advising sessions and letters submitted by faculty and others from prior college work and employment.
There are a series of workshops and activities for premedical students that include guest speakers from medical schools, admissions deans, and physicians practicing in a variety of specialties. Program topics include: how to select medical schools, preparing applications, the medical school admission process, interviewing, financial aid, and guidance for students who may be interested in public health or MD/PhD programs. An MCAT preparation review course is offered by the university over Intersession (between the fall and spring semesters) to familiarize students with the exam content and format. Individual mock interviews are conducted by a former member of the School of Medicine Admissions Committee , and an expert proofreader is available to review the personal statement essay for the AMCAS application.
