Applications for the Summer and Fall of 2008 are available online. We are only considering applications that are submitted electronically from this website. If you do not have access to a computer, or if for any other reason you cannot use the electronic application, please contact the Post-Bac Program Office to request a paper application.

Requirements : Applicants must complete a bachelor's degree before enrolling in the program. The program is not intended for students who have applied to medical school in the past. Generally, students must not have previously taken more than one-half of the science courses required for entering medical school. Students may not repeat courses that they completed in the past. Individuals with a grade point average below 3.0 are not likely to be competitive for admission.

Due to the sequence of courses and the customized schedule created for you, students may enroll at the end of May (Summer Term I), the beginning of July (Summer Term II), or the beginning of September (Fall Term). We do not accept applications for the Spring Semester; however, prospective applicants may contact the Post-Bac office for advice about planning to apply to the Hopkins Post-Bac Premed Program for the following summer or fall.

The period for the completion of the application and receipt of all supporting credentials is September 1 - March 1. In order to avoid the possibility of the class filling before you apply, we strongly urge you to complete your application by February 1.

We will process your application once we have received the following:

  • Submitted application.
  • Official transcripts from high school and all colleges you attended, regardless of length of attendance.
  • Scores from one of the following standardized exams:
    • Scholastic Aptitude Test (SAT)
    • American College Test (ACT)
    • Graduate Record Exam (GRE)

If these test scores do not appear on high school or college transcripts, you must arrange to have them sent to the Post-Baccalaureate Premedical Program Office. When requesting scores, use the following codes:

  • GRE/ code 5477;
  • SAT/ code 5332;
  • ACT/ code 1704

Two completed evaluation forms. One letter should come from a faculty member in your major area of study at the undergraduate college you attended. The other evaluation should come from either another faculty member who taught you in college or graduate school or an employment supervisor where you have worked at least one year.

A non-refundable application fee of $60 ( U.S. ).

Though not required as part of the application, volunteer work or employment in a health care setting is highly recommended.

Rolling Admissions : Decisions are made on a rolling basis; in general, the earlier your completed application and supporting credentials are received, the earlier a decision will be made on your application. In most cases, decisions are made within one month after an application is completed.
