Perschetz Named Editor of The Gazette

Lois Perschetz has been appointed editor of The Gazette, the weekly faculty/staff newspaper of The Johns Hopkins University. She succeeds Steve Libowitz, who was named director of news and information in February.

She will be responsible for the content and production of The Gazette, which is published 42 times a year by the Division of Communications and Public Affairs.

Previously, Perschetz was editor in chief of Mid-Atlantic Country magazine, executive editor of Baltimore magazine, copy director of House Beautiful and senior features editor of W and Women's Wear Daily. She has produced features for The New York Times and Newsweek and is the author of two books on fashion and interior design.

She received her bachelor of arts degree in journalism from the S.I. Newhouse School of Public Communications at Syracuse University, from which she also received a bachelor's degree in political science.

Perschetz lives in Baltimore with her husband and two daughters.
