RE: Fly along with the U. S. Army Parachute Team, the Golden Knights
WHEN: About 1 p.m. on Saturday, April 29
WHERE: To join the team on the plane (prior arrangements necessary)
Baltimore/Washington International Thurgood Marshall Airport, directions online here To watch the team land
Johns Hopkins University, Homewood Field
3400 N. Charles St.
Baltimore, Md. 21218

Six members of the media will have the opportunity to fly along with the Golden Knights as they reach an altitude of 12,500 feet before jumping onto Homewood Field prior to the homecoming lacrosse game versus Towson University. The team will be landing on the field and presenting the game ball. The event is being organized by the Johns Hopkins ROTC unit.

The jump is scheduled to take place at approximately 2 p.m., but the press must arrive an hour early for a pre-flight briefing. This will also allow adequate time to interview the jumpers and watch them rehearse. Media will be seated in the back of the plane near the open jump doors.

Interviews on board the airplane are welcome, as are video cameras, tape recorders, cell phones, and still-photography cameras. Due to the cold temperatures at high altitude, participants must wear warm clothing — gloves, hat, jacket, pants and closed-toe shoes. Those who fail to do so won't be allowed on the plane.

If you are not interested in going on board the plane but would like to catch the team in action or interview the jumpers after they land, we can offer you the opportunity to get an unobstructed view of the team landing on Homewood Field. A media pass will be required.

For either approach to coverage, interested members of media should call Maj. Amy Wallace at 410-916-6806 or e-mail amy.eileen.wallace@us.army.mil.
