Gifted eighth- and ninth-graders from educationally underserved areas of New York will be presenting formal business plans for their dream jobs in a competition judged by top executives from Goldman Sachs Group Inc.

Last summer, the students were awarded full scholarships to enroll in the renowned summer educational enrichment program run by Johns Hopkins University's Center for Talented Youth (CTY), spending three weeks studying in the company of America's brightest young minds. This fall, they joined their business-focused teams of up to five students. The teams spent the past five months learning the vocabulary and methods of business, guided by mentors from Goldman Sachs and MBA students from Columbia University and other local colleges.

During the competition, the future entrepreneurs will share PowerPoint presentations explaining the basics of business, including market shares, audience segmentation, and return on investment. Reporters will be able to speak to students, their mentors, officials from CTY, and executives from Goldman Sachs.

For more information the day of the event, contact Danielle Lee at 917-208-6186. This number must also be called immediately prior to arrival to gain access to the building.
