Dunsmore Named Development Director
for Neurosurgery

Andrew Dunsmore has been appointed director of development for the Department of Neurosurgery at Johns Hopkins Medicine, responsible for managing private sector fund raising in support of the department's research, teaching, and patient care missions.

Dunsmore, who started Sept. 1, served most recently as the director of development and alumni affairs for the University of Tennessee's School for Social Work.

"We are thrilled to have Andy on our team," said Constance French, director of the Fund for Johns Hopkins Medicine. "His development experience, his proven skills as a fund raiser, and his appreciation of the unique challenges we are facing make him a valuable addition to Johns Hopkins Medicine."

Prior to his position at the University of Tennessee, Dunsmore served as the associate director of medical development at Washington University in St. Louis, where he was responsible for planning and implementing a capital campaign to establish a cancer center at the Washington University Medical Center. He has also served in various development and alumni relations roles at Hiwassee College in Madisonville, Tenn., and as a planned giving specialist for the Sequoyah Group in Knoxville, Tenn.

Dunsmore holds a B.A. and an M.A. in political science from the University of Tennessee and will receive his Ph.D. in political science from Tennessee in December.
