"So That Others May Live," A Talk at Hopkins

Carolyn Hebard, co-founder and leader of the U.S. Disaster Response Team, will give an illustrated talk, "So That Others May Live," at Johns Hopkins University's Homewood campus on Wednesday, April 3 at noon. She will be accompanied by her latest canine partner, 6-year-old Pascha, a highly trained German shepherd.

Hebard has been an active dog trainer and search and rescue handler for over 23 years. As a team leader of the U.S. Disaster Team K-9 Unit, which responds to disasters all over the world, she has traveled to scenes of earthquakes in Mexico, Russia and Japan, hurricanes in South Carolina, and, most recently, the Oklahoma City bombing. Fluent in six languages and qualified as an emergency medical technician, Hebard has trained teams in Europe, Australia and Iceland.

This presentation is part of the Wednesday Noon Series presented by the Johns Hopkins University's office of Special Events. All programs in the series are held at noon in the Clipper Room of Shriver Hall on the University's Homewood campus at 3400 N. Charles Street in on Baltimore. Admission is free.

For information, call the Office of Special Events at (410) 516-7157.
