Johns Hopkins University Homewood campus

Movie buffs who vow to see every Oscar-nominated film before Academy Awards night can chalk one off their list free of charge, thanks to 12 student groups at The Johns Hopkins University. The public is welcome to take in a free screening of former Vice President Al Gore's cautionary environmental documentary, "An Inconvenient Truth," which just received Academy Award nominations for best documentary feature and best original song. (Information about the film is available online at www.climatecrisis.net/.)

The event is a part of part of the Climate Week of Action on the Homewood campus. (Information about this national campaign is online here.) The event is being organized by HEAT — The Hopkins Energy Action Team, a coalition of Johns Hopkins students who are committed to addressing climate change on campus. Participating groups include Students for Environmental Action, JHU-ACLU, Hopkins Democrats, Engineers for a Sustainable World, Leadership Initiative for the Environment, Eco Reps, Hopkins Sustainability Initiative, the Graduate Representative Organization, Hopkins Organization for Programming, Graduate Student Association, and Jewish Student Association.

For information, e-mail the students at HEAT@jhu.edu.
