Renowned contralto Ewa Podles and pianist Ania Marchwinska will perform at 7:30 p.m. on Sunday, Oct. 17, as part of the 2004-2005 Shriver Hall Concert Series in Shriver Hall Auditorium on The Johns Hopkins University's Homewood campus, 3400 N. Charles St. in Baltimore.

Podles has performed in every major opera house in the world, and with the San Francisco Symphony, Philadelphia Orchestra, Orchestre National de France, Seattle Symphony, Montreal Symphony, and Moscow Chamber Orchestra, among others. Podles has given recitals in Paris, Amsterdam, London, Toronto, Warsaw, Quebec and New York. Chopin, Rachmaninoff and Brahms will round out her Shriver Hall program.

Marchwinska also works as a principal vocal coach at Opera Narodowa in Warsaw.
