Cuttin' Grass will present "Toe Tappin'," a performance of traditional and contemporary bluegrass music at noon on Wednesday, Nov. 5, in the Levering Hall Glass Pavilion on the Johns Hopkins University's Homewood campus, 3400 N. Charles St. in Baltimore.

Cuttin' Grass is a bluegrass quartet of Baltimore-area musicians — Tim Mitchell of Ellicott City, Bill Monroe of Columbia, Jeff Hinson of Columbia and Charles Roe of Glen Burnie. Each member of the group has been performing music for most of his life. Mitchell was 3 when he started playing the banjo. He also plays the guitar, bass, fiddle and dobro and teaches banjo at Appalachian Bluegrass Shoppe in Catonsville. Monroe plays bass for Cuttin' Grass, can play the guitar, banjo and mandolin, and is a music teacher at Music and Arts Center in Severna Park. Jeff Hinson plays the guitar and mandolin. He's also the band's booking agent. Charles Roe plays the mandolin and teaches guitar and mandolin at Appalachian Bluegrass Shoppe. All four members provide vocals for the group.
