Theatre Hopkins' 82nd season continues with a staged reading from "Filling in the Dash," a collection of memoirs by local writers, opening at 8 p.m. on Saturday, Nov. 15, in the Merrick Barn on the Johns Hopkins University's Homewood campus, 3400 N. Charles St. in Baltimore.

Written by a Baltimore-area writers group known as the Wednesday Writers, "Filling in the Dash" refers to the space between the dates found on a gravestone. The dash represents life-successes and failures, loves and sorrows and all those things that measure the man and his life.

Guided by Betty (Corwell) Walter, the Wednesday Writers include teachers and engineers, dancers and dentists, musicians and librarians, principals and parents. "Filling in the Dash" captures the memories and musings of ordinary people telling their extraordinary stories. Actors performing these excerpts will include Tom Blair, Bruce Godfrey, M.L. Grout, Carol Mason, Nona Porter, Beth Weber and Betty Walter.

"Filling in the Dash" will run two weekends through Sunday, Nov. 23, in the Merrick Barn. Curtain time for the Saturday evening performances is 8 p.m.; Sunday matinees begin at 2:15 p.m.
