Twenty-two female students at The Johns Hopkins University will share the stage at 8 p.m. on Friday, Feb. 28, and Saturday, March 1, for two benefit performances of Eve Ensler's award-winning play "The Vagina Monologues" in Shriver Hall Auditorium on the university's Homewood campus, 3400 N. Charles St. in Baltimore.

The Johns Hopkins' production is among those at colleges and universities as part of the V Day 2003 College Campaign, a global movement to stop violence against women and girls. V Day, a non-profit corporation, distributes funds to grassroots, national, and international organizations and programs to increase awareness, raise money, and revitalize the spirit of existing anti-violence groups. The V Day College Campaign takes place in the weeks surrounding Valentine's Day on 1,000 college campuses worldwide.

The Johns Hopkins women -- a diverse group of undergraduate and graduate students -- are dedicating all proceeds to The House of Ruth and Turnaround Inc., two domestic violence shelters in Baltimore. The lone male involved in the production is director Loren Dunn, of Needham, Mass., who is a junior in the Writing Seminars. Last year's three sold-out performances raised more than $3,000 for The House of Ruth.
