The Dunbar Baldwin Hughes Theatre Company's production of Arthur Miller's Death of a Salesman will open at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday, May 1, in the Mattin Center's Swirnow Theatre on the Homewood Campus of The Johns Hopkins University, 3400 N. Charles St. in Baltimore.

Director Benedict A. Dorsey and assistant director Kara Lawrence will lead the colorblind cast, including undergraduates Alezandria K. Allow, Vladimir N. Cadet, Josya-Gony Charles, Thomas M. Digliani, Vincent A. Faust, Nonyerem C. Nwaneri, Gerald A. Rasheed, Tasia M. Richards, Kristin D. Simpson, Barry J. Vanderable, Thomas W. West, Wesley E. Williams, and graduate Howard J. Turner III as Willy Loman.

The Dunbar Baldwin Hughes Theatre Company produces African and African-American plays, skits, monologues, poetry recitals, and creative dance presentations. It aims to uplift the Johns Hopkins University student community through exposure to the traditions and experiences of African-Americans while supplementing the experience, training, and exposure of the company's actors.

"I have chosen this American classic with a majority African-American cast because the story line reaches across racial barriers," Dorsey said. "Dreams aren't limited to only white Americans. We all have dreams for our children and we all hurt when those dreams fail to come true."

Death of a Salesman will be performed on Thursday, May 1; Friday, May 2; and Saturday, May 3. Curtain time for all three performances is 7:30 pm. Tickets at the door are $5 for the general public and $3 for Hopkins students. For information, call (410) 516-5473.
